McGunagle Hentz represented a purchaser of two recreational facilities and related assets in a $4.25 million commercial acquisition.  We were pleased to close over $11 million in commercial loans.

groundbreakingRepresenting the Washington County Community Development Corporation, McGunagle Hentz assisted in obtaining comprehensive permit approval from the Town of Charlestown for the ChurchWoods affordable senior housing project.  When complete, WCCDC’s ChurchWoods development will provide 24 affordable senior rental housing units.

 

 February/March 2016

McGunagle Hentz is pleased to announce that Nancy Lentendre, Esq., AICP, has joined the firm as Of Counsel.  Nancy has over 18 years of experience as an attorney focusing on municipal land use law.  She has been an AICP certified planner since 2007.  Nancy brings to the firm a wealth of experience in land development, subdivision and zoning approval processes; affordable housing development; land use policy and legislation; and comprehensive planning. 

McGunagle Hentz congratulates Rich Hentz for becoming a member of the Board of Directors for the RI Chapter of the ALS Association.  Rich is honored to serve as the Chapter’s representative on the national ALS Association’s Board of Representatives.

December 2015/January 2016

McGunagle Hentz was pleased to close over $10.6 million in commercial financing, including over $1.3 million in SBA 504 debentures and a $3.4 million interest rate swap transaction.

McGunagle Hentz congratulates John J. Garrahy, Esq. for establishing John J. Garrahy Law, LLC and welcomes Mr. Garrahy to these offices located at 2088 Broad Street, Cranston, Rhode Island.  Ken McGunagle was please to assist Mr. Garrahy as title counsel in a complex $4 million commercial property acquisition in Warwick, Rhode Island.

June 2015

Ken McGunagle was appointed to the State of Rhode Island Personnel Appeals Board.

McGunagle Hentz is proud to be a part of development team for the ChurchWoods affordable housing development for seniors to be built on Route 1A in Charlestown, Rhode Island, which received final gap funding from the federal goverment this month.  The development will provide 24 rental units for residents age 55 and older.

McGunagle Hentz closed $1.6 million in SBA 504 loan program financing for new commercial construction projects, and closed $5.3 million in total commercial financing.

Ken McGunagle presented a review of FHA mortgage requirements for properties subject to affordability restrictions at a conference of affordable housing leaders.

December 2014

MH was pleased to close over $7 million in commercial financing for the month of December, including $1 million to partially fund a New Markets Tax Credit Program transaction related to the construction of a community center and headquarters for a RI non-profit corporation.

October 2014

Rich Hentz represented a CT economic development lender in the closing of an SBA 504 program loan as part of a $1.8 million acquisition of a bed and breakfast located on Block Island.

September 2014

Ken McGunagle, as counsel for a Rhode Island affordable housing developer and working with its team of professionals, helped obtain Master Plan and Preliminary Plan approvals, respectively,  from the Town of Richmond for two low- and moderate-income housing developments totaling 11 units.

August 2014

The U.S. Small Business Administration approved Rich Hentz as a Designated Attorney for 504 loan closings.  The SBA instituted this designated attorney status so that 504 loan closing attorneys may become prequalified to submit loans to their SBA District Counsel on an expedited basis and to allow closing attorneys to build expertise and receive training.

Ken McGunagle, along with staff, officers and board members of the RI Chapter of the ALS Association took the Ice Bucket Challenge at Garden City in Cranston. Ken McGunagle assisted House of Hope Community Development Corporation with the presentation of its plans for the Fair Mansion at 69 Fair Street, Warwick.  MH is proud to represent House of Hope in this project, which is planned to yield 10 affordable housing rental units.  For more information on House of Hope, see its website here.

The ALS Association honored Ken McGunagle with its Rasmussen Advocate of the Year Award.  The Rasmussen award is presented to those individuals whose personal initiative and efforts increase awareness of ALS and The ALS Association through education and advocacy on the local, state or federal level. 

February 2014

Ken McGunagle was re-elected as Chairperson of the ALS Association’s National Board of Representatives.  Ken is a former president of the Rhode Island Chapter of the ALS Association.
